10 recommended places to eat in Soller

The beautiful town of Soller, on the edge of the Serra de Tramuntana, complete with its own narrow-gauge heritage railway and one of the oldest tram systems in the whole of Spain, is a popular tourist destination for those visiting Mallorca. With so much to see and its close proximity to Port de Soller it is no surprise that visitors make a day trip to the area in order to fit everything in. Obviously this will also include lunch or an evening meal so we have tried to provide details of some of the better restaurants available on offer whilst catering for different tastes and pockets.

La Cason, Soller

On Saturdays and Sundays it opens from 1.00pm to 3.30pm and 7.00pm to 11.30pm.  Located at Carrer de la Rectoria 1, Ca’n Pintxo prides itself on its quality and selection of freshly made pintxos. A pintxo can best be described as ‘finger food’ but unlike tapas which is generally based on being smaller portions of larger dishes, pintxo is smaller again and often served skewered with a cocktail stick.

Frequently these cocktail sticks are coloured differently and at the end of the evening the bill is calculated by counting the number and colour of the used sticks. Pintxo means spike or thorn (hence the cocktail sticks) and is normally eaten in bars and can be served cold, at room temperature or hot depending on the ingredients. It’s a fun and very sociable way to enjoy a light snack. Soller’s Ca’n Pintxo uses fresh local ingredients and prepares all its excellent dishes daily. It is a popular venue and worthwhile reserving a table.
