The Tramuntana Mountain Range, declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 2011 with more than 4,000 species listed, is one of the greatest biodiversity places in the Balearic Islands.

In Pollença, there is a great diversity of coastal habitats such as sandy, rocky, with cliffs, coastal islets typologies; wetlands (Albufereta, La Gola) agricultural systems (cereals, olive trees) natural grassland, scrubland, pine and oak forests and high mountain areas which provide a high diversity of plant communities and favour the occurence of a large variety of bird species. Added to the fact that the municipality of Pollença is strategically located in the centre of the main migration routes, the result is that it is one of the best places in the Balearic Islands for birdwatching.

The Council of Pollença has studied the areas of greatest ornithological interest and has designed eight ornithological routes and five strategic observation points for birdwatching. Take a look at the routes below and enjoy a day of birdwatching in one of the most beautiful spots on the Island.
