Of the many tourists who visit this beautiful town each year many are day visitors who are tourists staying at nearby Puerto Pollensa and Alcudia. Pollença for these visitors is a break from the beach to spend a day exploring the old town, coming to see the market on a Sunday or a visit to one of the many festival such as San Antoni held every January. One of the most popular festivals is the Wine Fair which is held every year on a weekend in May.
There is the alternative tourist which are normally singles or couples who come to relax and take in the quality of life with its peaceful approach to everything. There is so much for these people to visit and explore how over the years this small town developed.
For the town to retain its character the choice of accommodation is limited when compared to the busier Puerto Pollensa but it is also very varied and can cover a lot of options. You could stay in the five star Son Brull Hotel just outside of the town set in spectacular countryside or stay in the refuge set at the top of the Puig de Maria a favourite for the many walkers which tackle the well known routes. There is still a reasonable choice within the old town itself with the Son Sant Jordi which is very popular but also the Hotel Juma and the Vall de Pollenca. Pollença not being a tourist resort is a place to stay at anytime of the year but for those staying during the summer season and not wanting the busy resorts most people choose the small but beautiful Cala Sant Vincenç a five minute drive or bus trip to Pollenca. In Cala Sant Vincenç you have four beautiful beaches great for scuba diving as well as sun bathing. There are a few nice hotels one being the Hotel Cala Sant Vincent and also there is the boutique hotel the Hoposa Nui.
Pollença and the surrounding areas also have a huge amount of rental villas set in the stunning Serra de Tramuntana a great choice.
