To the west of Placa Miguel Capllonch you’ll find the Church of Our Lady of Carmen which is well worth a visit. Religion is a key ingredient of Puerto Pollensa’s two fiestas in June and July.
At the end of June the town celebrates the patron saint of fishermen with the Sant Pere Fiesta, which includes a church service of thanksgiving, processions, music, entertainment for children, a market and restaurants serving local seafood.
In mid-July the Fiesta de la Verge del Carme honours the patron saint of seafarers. It lasts for eight days, culminating on the Sunday closest to July 16 with a mass in the evening and processions – and a spectacular firework finale on the beach at La Gola.
