Spring and autumn are the ideal times for walkers although many enjoyable walks can be had in the summer, particularly along the Boquer Valley. Just remember to take some water with you as you can quickly become dehydrated and a hat is also useful.
There is a good walk over the mountains to Cala Sant Vicenç with fantastic views of Cala Carbo in the bay and you will find a couple of lovely bars by the water’s edge serving food. Many people visit here to sit and enjoy the most relaxing atmosphere and spectacular views of bays and mountains. Just chill out and let the world go by!
There is a good walk at Pollença old town which is relatively easy being only just over 3 km and takes you to the Puig de Maria with breathtaking views at the top of the Puerto Pollensa and the Sant Jordi stream.
Another great walk starts just off the Formentor Road at Casa Velles. Park on the left of the road and walk through the woods on the opposite side to Cala Murta which is a lovely quiet cove. This is an easy walk and the bay is a great place just to chill out.
There are plenty more walks in the area and a lot of routes are clearly marked. There is also an app available which has a list with clearly marked out maps.
